COME WORSHIP WITH US! Beginning March 2nd, we gather for one Sunday service of Holy Communion at 10:00 AM. We are currently using a traditional musical setting accompanied by organ and piano. Our spirited choir leads us in singing, drawing on a repertoire that ranges from traditional hymns to gospel and contemporary “praise songs”. We welcome children! They are invited to worship with us and to hear the good news through stories, crafts and more -- it's "Sunday Morning Alive"!
HOLY COMMUNION We celebrate Holy Communion each Sunday. We practice open communion at Salem, where all baptized Christians are invited to take bread and wine. In this sacrament, Lutherans affirm that Christ is truly present as we gather to give thanks and to share the bread and wine. Grape juice is available for those who cannot drink wine. Ordinarily children do not take bread and wine until they have received instruction about Holy Communion. Children who are accustomed to receiving Holy Communion at their home churches are welcome to receive it at Salem. Children or others who do not receive communion are invited to come forward to share in the unity of the gathering and to receive a blessing.
